Now He Sleeps

Here's Oscar. It's the middle of the afternoon, and where is he? Sleeping in the closet. Why is he so tired? Well, let's recap last night, shall we?
2:30 am Michael's baby monitor alarm went off (he was all the way over to one side of the crib, so it thought he was missing). Missy tells Jason that she's going to check on him (no response). She rearranges Michael in the crib, trying not to wake him. Return to bed, make sure husband is breathing.
5:00 am Oscar begins fussing for breakfast. Jason gets up, brings cat back to bed to try to quiet him so as not to wake Michael. We both hold him down in bed and pet him.
5:30 am Oscar singing, baby fussing. Missy gets up, gives baby paci and feeds Oscar.
6:00 am Oscar sings some more. Missy speculates he might need water. Jason says he doesn't care what he wants. Missy gets up, checks baby, can't find cat.
6:15 am Oscar is now downstairs caterwalling. Jason goes down in futile attempt to entertain cat and make sure he uses the litter box. Cat appears to be constipated.
6:45 am Jason comes back to bed. Baby is grunting. Missy tries to get in 15 more minutes of sleep.
7:00 am Alarm goes off. All else is quiet. Missy and Jason stay in bed 15 more minutes.
7:15 am Guilt that baby may be hungry motivates Missy to get up. Jason goes downstairs to fetch bottle. Discovers cat is no longer constipated. Evidence left on carpet.
7:20 am Missy feeds baby, Jason cleans carpet, cat demands more food...
7:30 am Missy makes coffee. Cat goes to bed.

Could We Be Teething?

Super Bowl Party!

Michael was very excited to go to his first Super Bowl party at Heather and Marc's house! (Although he doesn't look so thrilled in this photo - he was very curious about the football).

The kids were all really excited. Will and Hope had their Steeler outfits on and were having a great time with Sydney, Ava, Olivia, and Josh.

One of the biggest hits of the night were our really cool 3D glasses.

Michael is 3 months old today.

Michael is officially 3 months old today. He can do so many things now. Here are a few highlights:

• He has outgrown his bassinet, so we are transitioning him to the pack 'n play for naps.
• He now uses stage 2 bottles and drinks 5 1/2 ounces at a time.
• He can grasp a rattle and shake it.
• He can bring his hands together and even guide whatever he's grasping to his mouth.
• He loves to play "tummy monster" and has some very interesting laughs when he gets excited.
• He can "swat" his hanging toys. He really likes to knock that toucan!!
• He sees a whole lot farther and can appreciate the tv along with dad.
• He's growing more hair now - finer and lighter in color.
• He likes baths (most of the time).
• He definitely recognizes mommy and daddy. Still ignores kitty Oscar (the feeling is mutual).

We love our boy!

SNOW DAY!

We had about 4 inches of snow overnight. We woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland!

Jason had the day off due to the weather, so we bundled Michael up and took him outside to see the snow.

He thought it was too bright and too cold!

He lasted about 2 minutes before we decided to take him back inside!

He really loves his snowsuit - although he was having a hard time figuring out where his fingers were!

Busted!

It was a quiet and peaceful day in the Meunier house. The baby was sleeping...

There was beautiful snow outside...



BUT, badness was lurking! Oscar, get off the table!!! You know you're NOT supposed to be up there!

A Sunny Friday

The frozen pond is beginning to melt and the geese are "walking on water".

Oscar is catching some sun.


A brief respite from the cold... we got up to 50 degrees today! It was nice enough to take Michael out for a walk in his stroller, which he really seemed to enjoy. It's been several weeks since we could get out and walk; he seemed to take in alot more of his surroundings, in a cautious kind of way. He is really a shy little guy; I told him all about everything we were seeing and he just listened intently, every once in a while his eyes would leave mine and he'd just look around. And then he'd get shy and look straight into my eyes until he felt brave again.

Bathtime Cuteness

Michael has begun to really enjoy his baths! He was just so cute in his little froggy towel last night that I had to shoot some pics! He was really trying hard to giggle while he was on the changing table, but he doesn't quite have that figured out yet.
